Why the Trauma Lens Matters
For Every Therapist
Most clients have experienced some form of adversity—whether or not they name it as trauma. Trauma-informed supervision helps you:
Recognize how trauma can show up in unexpected ways
Avoid misdiagnosis by understanding trauma's many faces (e.g., anxiety, mood disorders, even ADHD)
Provide deeper, more compassionate care
Whether your setting is private practice, school-based, or community mental health—these lens enhance your work.

Getting Started with Clinical Supervision
The first step is setting up a conversation with your potential supervisor to ensure a good fit for your clinical needs and professional goals. During this meeting, you’ll have the opportunity to ask questions, discuss expectations, and determine if the supervision style aligns with your learning needs.
If you decide to move forward, the next step is enrolling in Clinical Supervision Connection. Once enrolled, you'll officially begin gaining the supervised clinical experience required for licensure, while building confidence, expanding your clinical skills, and joining a supportive professional community.

Theresa is really easy to learn from and work with! She's very helpful and actually is consistent at being available to provide support whenever you reach out. I never felt like there were "bad" or "silly" questions with her in supervision, and she is able to guide you in your practice without fueling your impostor syndrome.
